What is Halloumi? Halloumi cheese is a semi-hard, unripened and brined cheese that’s traditionally made from sheep’s milk in the Greek island of Cyprus. In North Amercia, Halloumi grilling cheese is typically made from cow and goat milk.
You Will Need:
1 (8.8-ounce) packages halloumi cheese, patted dry, halved, and cut into 1/4-inch-wide strips
1 Tbsp olive oil
2 tsp "Sultans of Swing"
1/2 lemon (or 1 Tbsp lemon juice)
Toppings (optional)
1/4 cup chopped olives
1/4 cup chopped parsley
dash of cracked peppercorn
Brush Halloumi with olive oil & "Sultans of Swing" and grill on the BBQ grill (or stove-top pan) over med-high heat for 5 mins. Flip and brush with remaining oil and seasoning for 5 more mins.
Top with chopped olives, parsley & cracked peppercorn (optional) and squeeze with lemon.
Serve as a side to your favourite meat or veggie dish.
